Onslo are musical outlaws that seem to detach from any category one tries to put them in. No matter how detached their art rock, they seem to invoke moods rather than songs. "wall of sound" or "esoteric bass line" or perhaps "extremely fucking spastic-THEN STOP....NOW GO" rather than "Alternative Rock". Most of the stuff comes off somewhere like melodic noisecore, but with electro jabs and bass walks taking off in all sorts of different directions. Bass-Guitar duo Aaron Kotilainen and Ethan Hurwitz offer up the strangest combination of styles. On drums, the blitzkrieg in Chris Floyd, comes a guy who can round out a power trio and play like mad man. A cop out answer might be "Sonic Youth, produced by Steve Albini at Fort Thunder", but I sure won't say that.
